I do have one request though if I may and I think a few other students may be struggling with the same thing here but would it be possibe to actually see you upload the php file to the server as I am no expert when it comes to HTML and all that and I am confused as to what folder you save the php file to and where you create a folder or a sub folder etc? I noticed you skipped past that part but if possible it would be great to see that live as I am still getting used to all this techy stuff.

Is this possible?

I created the file using notepad, used your exact example, saved it, (ALL FILES) scott_test.php
The contents of this are …

Uploaded it to my public_html directory.

When I browsed to http://www.markhimes.com/scott_test.php I keep receiving the following error..

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’ in /home/markhime/public_html/scott_test.php on line 2

I tried variations of this code lile replacing the 1st colon (:) with quotes (“) then it didn’t like the quotes
so I put it back to the way you described in your video.

Tried this with Internet Explorer AND Firefox and still get the same error.

What else could I be doing wrong ?

One question, when you said you uploaded the php.php to your website, exactly WHERE on the website did you put this file? What directory-subdirectory(s) ?

Yes, upload the file into your public html, as you would any other page.

The software for cloaking the affiliate links is Power Link Generator.
I think it’s about $97 if memory serves. It’s a Mike Filsaime product.
